On the ASP.NET CodePlex web site I found that ASP.NET MVC Framework was released, preview 5, the other day.
As I have written in earlier posts about the MVC Framework I will try it out by using it in one of my hobby projects. So far I haven’t got the time to start this project but soon, really soon…
About the release
Preview release 4 contained a number of improvements as well as new features. The same goes for preview release 5.
It was released on ASP.NET – Release ASP.NET CodePlex Preview 5 Installer on August 28. As I write this it has been downloaded more than 5000 times.
The release notes talks about improvements on the ViewEngine, Helper, Controller and Filter classes. As all releases there are some known issues, all listed in the release notes.
Upgrading from preview release 4 to 5 seems fairly simple.
Read about it on the web page referenced above.
I’m really impressed by the work performed by the crew around this framework. Read about some of the changes in detail on ScottGu’s blog, ASP.NET MVC Preview 5 and Form Posting Scenarios.
